Jim Hobson entered horses in the Condon race meet with Joe G Calithump Snow Mountain Lauretta placing in the five eighths mile race with a time of 58 2-5. In the one mile Condon Derby Joe G won and Calithump finished second with Smatter third in 1 47. Three Oregon Laws Held Over for Ballot in 1926
May 28 was the time limit for beginning the laws that the legislature passed. Three laws are non operative due to petitions for referendum. The tithing bill the bus bill and the telegraph tax bill will go to the November general election. The tithing bill would take 10 percent of receipts from state boards to the general fund. It was the last to file its petition.

Results Of Examination Of School Children In Coos County
Coos County Health unit examined 3069 school children in the past year. 313 were substantially free of defects. Teeth and tonsils topped the list with 45.7 and 42.5 percent, vision issues 11.5 percent. Of 3284 defects found, 889 were corrected mainly by physicians or dentists. Marshfield started diphtheria vaccination for 185 children. further immunizations planned as schools resume. Preschoolers urged to receive smallpox vaccination and diphtheria immunization before starting school. clinics planned in county towns this summer.
