Fairground Improvements Begin for Ninth Coos Curry Fair
Workmen under President Whitaker begin weeklong improvements at the Coos and Curry County Fair grounds. A new 34 by 70 foot community exhibit hall, a 12 by 18 foot ladies room, new stock stalls, a new gate entrance, and an aeroplane landing area are planned. Aviator Briggs will handle exhibition flights during the four days. Local boosters, including R. C. Dement, will open the oak grove for car turnout and camping, with Myrtle Point hotels ready for visitors.

Man Killed In Trestle Accident Near Powers
A Smith Powers Logging employee A G Dunkin aged about 35 from Gold Hill Oregon died after being struck while loading rails on a trestle near Camp 2. He fell 25 feet and died at 3 pm. Survived by mother Mrs Sarah Dunkin of Sawtelle California. Burial planned at Norway cemetery.

Oregon Agricultural College millinery project in Corvallis produced 608 hats across Benton Lincoln Coos Jackson and Umatilla counties at a net cost of 514.13. The hats averaged 85 cents to make, with 1700 people attending the extension service millinery schools. The saving was estimated at 4670.20 based on the hats’ commercial value.
