A freshly proposed road solution promises paving and macadam methods, signaling a debate over best surface practice. Officials weigh costs and durability as communities eye improvements and longer lasting routes.
The county court proposed a 50 50 funding plan with banks underwriting an issue to surface the road between Coquille and Myrtle Point. The State Highway Commission was asked to cover half the bonds while Goos county would take the other half, with an estimated total cost of 160000 at par.
Mr and Mrs Jackson and Miss Vesta Crank escaped serious harm when their car rolled down a river bank seven miles from Bandon Sunday morning. The driver of another car blocked the narrow road forcing Jackson to brake as the vehicle toppled, two others aided, and Mrs Jackson suffered a neck vertebra dislocation later diagnosed and treated in Coquille.
A Grace resident, part of the Jackson family, was involved in an accident Sunday when a vehicle rolled over on a steep Grace Street. No further details available.
