Berry Prices Expected Higher This Season

Canneryman A C Chase reports Willamette valley fruit damage from cold will limit supply and push berry prices up. Loganberries may reach about 12 cents per logan. evergreen and longanberry crops were killed, urging readiness to harvest hundreds of acres. Chase plans cannery expansion to process all incoming fruit.

Langlois man named executor of Culver estate

Peter W. Culver of Langlois is appointed executor of the estate of S. J. Culver, recently deceased, with property value around $16,000. Other heirs include Sarahee Culver the widow, James R. Culver, P. W. Culver, Geo. W. Culver, Polly M. Bellows, Phoebe R. Culver, Howard S. Culver, Annie L. Kennicutt, and R L. Hilderbrand. A separate petition by J. J. Stanley seeks administration of Stewart J. Miller’s estate, valued at $18,800 real property and $2,000 personal. heirs are John W., Albert B., Ray Fred Miller, and Annie P. Rooney.

Cow Testing Association Elects Officers at Myrtle Point

At a Myrtle Point meeting directors W C Cutler Theo Clinton Leslie Trizy Wm Bell Frank Willard and W E Myers were chosen. The group set testing fees at 20 dollars for the first ten cows and 150 dollars per cow annually. Over 1200 cows already signed up and two testers will be hired next year. A Dairymen Dance and Dainty Lunches at King's Confectionery to benefit the association were planned.

Reedsport Triumphs Over American Legion In Return Game

The American Legion team visiting Reedsport suffered a 20 to 12 defeat on a slick floor with weight advantage on the home side. The Oaks pavilion hosts a return match next Saturday as locals expect another strong turnout and a win for their squad.
