Three basketball games featuring Myrtle Point teams were held last Friday with two at the Oaks pavilion and one in Marshfield. The eighth grade Myrtle Point defeated Norway 7 to 0, while Myrtle Point High School lost to North Bend by a score of Stowow. Attendance was light due to a prohibition lecture but fans remained spirited.

Lend A Hand prison magazine revived with governor approval
The Lend A Hand monthly magazine of Oregon State Penitentiary is revived after a pause and will begin distribution on the 22nd. Inmates edit and print the paper which relies on public subscriptions, with Governor Olcott and Warden Compton endorsing its role in reform and understanding prison life. Subscriptions are $1.00 per year, and funds go entirely to producing the publication.
