New Logging Camps Open As Timber Work Expands
New logging camps have begun operations along the Middle Fork. A. M. De Vaul and partners log 80 acres of cedar, E. E. and W. M. Weekly oversee 120 acres, and McNair & Roberts supply cedar for a government contract. About 40 men are employed, with $100,000 worth of cedar logs floated out this winter.

Holders of 1918 War Saving Stamps maturing on January 1 must exchange by January 15 to receive Treasury Savings certificates dated January 1, 1923 and interest from that date. After January 15 dates are set at issue and 18 days of interest are lost. Certificates available at post offices banks and Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco. After four days the first 150 days interest is lost.

Backs Over Grade Injures Driver Not Seriously Hurt
Mr Vestal of the Union Oil Co Marshfield lost control of a car and dropped about 40 feet over a grade near Pridge on a Wednesday afternoon. A cat was sent to the scene but not needed. He was unharmed and taken home to Marshfield.

Kendall Appointed to Fill Marshfield Judge Vacancy
John Kendall of Marshfield was named to fill the unexpired term after Judge Coke’s senate confirmation. Kendall, born November 15, 1886, is 36 and may be the youngest circuit judge in the west, as Governor Clett appointed him upon telegram notice from Senator McNary.
