Saturday night Fireboys presented a crowded theater program and a benefit play raising about seventy five dollars. Churches held Christmas observances with children performing songs recitations and decorations while Santa distributed candy nuts and apples to the 325 children at Woodman hall.
The event features Verna Knight, Leslie Barklow, Loren Michael, and Lorena Michael among others with recitations, songs including Joy to the World, Madricals, and More Like Jesus. The Christmas Reveille was read by several, with closing prayer by Aunt Annie Barklow. The Sunday school distributed treats to the children present.

A new owner plans to open a gentlemen’s resort at the Windsor building in Coes Bay Harbor after thorough renovations. Mr. Brews will stock cigars and confectionery, serve light lunches, and provide up-to-date billiard and pool tables. The place aims to be a premier leisure spot.

Mrs Elizabeth Weaver known as Aunt Lizzie by friends in Myrtle Point, born December 22 1846 in Newcastle upon Tyne England, died December 22 1922 in Myrtle Point at age 76. She came to Oregon in 1901 and lived with sister Mrs Guerin and nephews, enduring rheumatism with cheer.
Mrs. Weaver dedicated years to nursing her invalid father and aiding others. She joined the Presbyterian church early, supported by a devoted family, and left behind a sister Priscilla Guerin, a brother W L Dobinson, a son William H Weaver, and four grandchildren. Funeral held Saturday in the chapel, Rev L Anderson officiated, burial at Langlois.

Sandy Ellis and wife celebrated in Myrtle Point as Len Lafferty aided Aaron Myers with a barn addition. Farmers held a good roads conference at the schoolhouse amid resistance to special road taxes.

Nettie Davis born March 18 1892 in Carthage Illinois died December 24 1922 in Bridge Oregon at age 30. She married Clarence R Davis May 13 1922 and they had a daughter. She leaves her husband daughter parents and siblings. Services were in the Bridge Christian Church conducted by Elder Barklow with interment at Norway.
The schools held Christmas festival programs Friday with grades combining or presenting own acts. Grades I to II included songs readings and a Santa visit with gifts from Mr Breuer. higher grades staged plays, readings, and musical numbers. The program featured a variety of recitations, songs, and a Christmas playlet, ending with distribution of presents and performances by upper grades and the high school.
