Myrtle Point Soldier Edward Burtenshaw Dies in France
Edward Coke Burtenshaw, born August 28 1904 in Myrtle Point, died in France on November 1 during World War I service. He moved with his parents to Council Idaho in 1901, enlisted September 19 1917, served in Argonne Forest and Army Candidate School, with letters prior noting he was well. His parents ran the Myrtle Point Hotel and his mother was sister to Mrs Nettie Warner. He held the rank of company sergeant at the time of his death.
