R A Redell faced opposition for marshal but was placed in office with broad support after a mayoral vote. A petition urged stricter law enforcement and renewed community consciousness regarding liquor laws.

Powdered lead arsenate is usually better than paste forms. If the weather is remote from the place of manufacture the paste is likely dried or frozen before use. A solution of one pound of acid lead arsenate to four hundred gallons of water killed small tent caterpillars, according to farm chemistry notes.

Raids smash moonshine outfit near Bridge location

Constable R A Redell raided a two mile above Bridge site on the R C Endicott tract. The hidden camp, hard to reach by water, contained two stoves for heating mash, about 15 gallon casks, raisin mash, liquor, and gear. No arrests were made as no one was found at the location.

Mrs Amelia Willicutt aged 77 years 3 months 6 days died Monday at the home of her son Paul B Willicutt near Remote. A native of New York state she died after a prolonged illness. Funeral services were held at Bridge on Wednesday.

William Culbertson a longtime North Fork pioneer died at his McKinley home on Monday December 6 at age 89. He was a Virginia native and funeral services were scheduled for today December 9.

John Whittington a longtime resident died at his home on Tuesday December 7 at age 72 The cause of death pneumonia He was born in North Carolina Funeral services were held Wednesday with interment in the Whittington cemetery
