At the regular monthly directors meeting, the Bank of Myrtle Point voted the regular annual dividend and approved extensive interior renovations. A new burglar and fireproof vault will be installed along with new bank furniture and a directors room. The N. P. Peterson store will relocate its grocery department into the bank building fronting 71 Spruce Street, previously the dry goods department and Peterson office.

If no new cases of infantile paralysis appear in Marshfield and North Bend, the quarantine in force for about a month will end Friday night. Bandon Myrtle Point and Coquille already moved to lift their quarantines. Araga will end quarantine Friday night and school will reopen Monday if no further cases arise. Tucker Family Returns From Portland for Thanksgiving
J. H. Tucker arrived with his family from Portland for Thanksgiving. Mrs. Tucker underwent an appendectomy on November 29 and is recovering at Good Samaritan hospital. Mr. Tucker will move on to Marshfield for accounting work, and Mrs. Tucker will stay until after the holidays. She plans to resume her music class and lead the choral club which plans an Easter cantata.

Empire Development aims to revive old city with new industry hub
The Empire Development Company announced plans to rehabilitate Old City of Empire into a modern industrial center. It purchased 4000 acres from North Bend to Searth Inlet with docks, sawmills, canneries, and water rights, and began land clearing, street grading, a water system, and channel dredging.
