A moonshine operation was discovered in a cave on a bluff near Powers after a party including Dr. Bunch and Dude King located signs of whiskey making gear. Deputies pursued, captured Whit Morris, pool-room proprietor, near Myrtle Point and held him in $1,000 bail awaiting federal action. A Red Cross street dance fundraiser followed for Our Boys.
