Kellogg Grower Nets 2370 From Three Acres of Loganberries
Kellogg farmer George earned 2370 from a 3 1/2 acre Loganberry field sold to Southerlin Fruit Products Co. The berries weighed 52750 pounds green and about 6000 pounds evaporated. Experts say Loganberries and Evergreen Blackberries offer strong profits for small growers with quick bearing and low setup costs.

Myrtle Point Boys Steal Car Then Are Overtaken
Four youths Clay Cornwell James Cornwell R Northup and Steve Culbertson stole a Chevrolet owned by Mr Patterson near Myrtle Point. They took the car at night on the Myrtle Point Toquille road and were caught within about 45 minutes after Mrs Patterson alerted Brown in Myrtle Point. They faced larceny charges and were bailed on $600.

Coquille Family Narrowly Escapes After River Car Dive
Mr and Mrs John Bellony of Coquille and Bellony s brother with three young children lost control of a Dodge car en route to the Coquille Ferry and plunged into the river. The father freed his wife and two older children, while the mother in the back held the infant aloft to air but could not escape until the husband reemerged through the car top with the others. The car surfaced late in the evening and was recovered around midnight with lights still burning. Also noted is the obituary of Alfred Grant King born September 1 1889 in Coos County who died August 15 1919 in Mercy Hospital North Bend after typhoid fever, survived by three sisters and five brothers. funeral at Prebyterian Church Myrtle Point Cemetery.
