Bank of Myrtle Point received checks ranging from fifty to sixty dollars with no funds. Officials tracked the issuer to Marshfield then Salem as he disappeared after buying a ticket. Baxter hotel in Coquille cashed one before departure. Investigators expect his capture and a penitentiary case if found.

Captain Guerin Ends Military Survey Duty Ahead of Discharge

Captain W. C. Guerin, assistant deputy engineer of the South Eastern Department, has completed a 7 000 square mile survey around Savannah Charleston Pensacola and Mobile and a 155 square mile Camp Benning study. He expects discharge in about a month and plans to pursue business afterward. Mrs. Guerin and son Roy accompany him as he travels from Washington to the Western Department. He notes witnessing significant maneuvers at Camp Benning and Camp Benning’s training facilities observed by superiors and cadets.
