Mayor Kennelly will speak at the 73rd anniversary dinner of the Citizens Association of Chicago on October 11 at 6 30 PM in the Chicago Bar Association headquarters. Harold Eckhardt announces attendees include city council members and neighborhood groups as Fire Prevention Week marks the event. The program spotlights the Citizens Community Conference a non partisan city wide neighborhood council to exchange ideas and address issues. Continue Hearing Against Man Charged in Thefts
Roscoe Robinson, 39, an escaped convict, was arrested on indecent exposure charges and linked to two Southeast side burglaries and 11 Northside thefts. In Felony court his case was continued to October 10. Police traced him to Oakwood Boulevard and South Park Avenue after a six day manhunt. Police say he confessed to prior burglaries in Winnetka Wilmette and Evanston after escaping Huntsville Texas prison. He used several aliases and the stolen goods were recovered in his hotel room.

Funeral services for Mrs. Jennie Cone 57 of 7140 Jeffery avenue were held Monday at Pizer chapel 6935 Stony Island avenue. Burial followed at West Lawn cemetery. Born in Chicago she was a Southsider for 30 years and lived on Jeffery Avenue. Survived by husband William L. Cone furniture salesman married in 1913 a son Gilbert co-owner of the House of Schiller 6508 Halsted street and two grandchildren.

Mrs. Magdela Kramer of 7633 Eberhart Ave marks her 93rd birthday with tea this afternoon and an open house Saturday evening hosted by family at the same address. A German immigrant born in Württemberg who arrived in 1893, she married Ferdinand Kramer, a florist who died in 1931. She bakes coffee cakes weekly and remains active in family life with daughters Mrs. Owen P. Hynes and Mrs. W. Kill, plus son Charles C. Kramer, 14 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Two Car Crash Kills Man and Wounds Four

Breaks His Cane Over Young Man in Jackson Park Robbery
An 88 year old retired sheet metal worker who had a three year medical condition struck a 24 year old man with a cane during a wallet theft in Jackson Park. Cecil Markle, 41 S Leavitt St, was arrested about ten minutes later for the robbery from Fred W Filter 6442 Stony Island Ave. Markle has prior robbery and auto theft convictions and faces a Felony court appearance before Judge William V Daly. He purportedly fled west on 64th Street after the attack near Stony Island Ave. The victim Filter is under doctor care and was confined to his home recently. Mrs Dora Walker and Mrs Anna Talsma chased the suspect and identified Markle at Gard and Blackstone. He was taken to Woodlawn police station for questioning.

Illinois Central railroad track safety hearing continued
A hearing before the Illinois Commerce Commission on lowering street level suburban tracks from Toth Street and Kenwood Avenue to 94th Street and South Chicago Avenue was continued to November 9. The suit, filed September 1945 by Alderman Nicholas J. Bohring and Saul A. Epton, was joined by the South Shore Chamber of Commerce and the city of Chicago.
