One suspect guarded while the other emptied the register and searched Mrs Edward Grossman’s handbag. Grossman reported 12 dollars missing.
Twelve year old Sylvia Seelig will debut at New York Town Hall tomorrow night marking a pivotal moment in her budding concert career. Daughter of Mrs. Anna Seelig, she trained under Isadore Buchhatter after starting piano at age three with her father, the late Philip Seelig.
Grand Crossing Chatham Chamber of Commerce announces a 25th anniversary event set for the last week of October. Andrew Metzger chairs the celebration committee with Bud Singman leading the business promotion effort for a large sale and civic festivities.
A street car and a Suburban Safety bus collided near 69th street and Calumet late Tuesday night injuring 21 people. Bus driver John Mulder of Harvey said he had just crossed the intersection when the westbound street car struck the bus rear. Ten were taken to Jackson Park Hospital, others to Dr. Evertz and Woodlawn Hospital. one man, Robert Downing of Hammond, remained for treatment.
The Woodlawn community celebrates its Golden Jubilee with a baby contest. Health ratings from exams determine the 10 percent of entrants to compete in the Hayes hotel on Saturday for six prize winners. Grand prize is an engraved silver cup with other prizes in the Lex theater at 8:30 p.m. Chairman is Mrs Lottye Barnes Randall.

Reverend C Fridolf Carlson is to preach his first sermon Sunday at the South Shore Methodist church located at 79th street and Burnham avenue replacing Rev Swan W Adamson. Carlson comes from Salem Methodist on the Northwest side where he served seven years and previously served in Waukegan and Gardener Massachusetts. He is a Northwestern University graduate of 1919 with a 1921 masters degree and a Garrett Biblical Institute theology degree. Between 1922 and 1927 he worked as an educational missionary in Wonju Korea where his 13 year old daughter Dorothy was born. he also has an adopted son who will be 10 next month.
