Alderman Thomas J. Daley plans a Jeffery avenue bus extension from 67th to 85th streets to serve residents and workers. He will seek council approval and estimates 4 cents to widen the street for operation. A two story frame house at 8046 Exchange Ave burned yesterday morning at 10 o'clock causing about 1500 in damages. Mrs. Carl Wickstrom, a first floor tenant, reported the smoke. Walter Newrocks and his family escaped from the second story as flames began there. Firemen from Engine Company 87 halted the blaze within about thirty minutes. Owner John Kutsberger, 8315 Stony Talendare, is listed.

Kelly will review the Eighth Ward Charter Jubilee parade as Miss Eighth Ward is chosen tonight among 70 entrants from Chesterfield Avalon Grand Crossing and Chatham on stage at the Grove theater. Queens from each community will be crowned by audience acclaim with prize cups and gifts. More than 10,000 participants are expected as floats, bands and civic groups prepare for a 7:30 p.m. march ending on Cottage Grove and 83rd Street.
