Huge Parade Set for Eighth Ward Charter Jubilee
A massive parade honoring the Eighth Ward Charter Jubilee is planned with about 10 000 participants including Legionaires business leaders civic and church groups Boy Scouts ROTC and more. Alderman Michael F Mulcahy leads the effort with Grand Marshal Roland Rawson directing the assembling near 72nd st and Cottage Grove ave. The Grand Crossing Chadham units the parade will feature American Legion posts police and fire units 50 floats and a youth contingent from ROTC and Scouting groups. A bicycle unit and a Hungarian band accompany the procession with a beauty queen float sponsored by the Burnside Eagles. Continued on page 9.
