Messerschmidt Slaying Still Baffles Police
The murder of Mrs. Minnie Messerschmidt remains a baffling case with few usable clues. Witnesses described a 40 to 45 year old blond man in a light blue suit and white Panama hat fleeing the scene. Blood traces on the stair and an injured assailant, plus a worn envelope containing newspaper sections, are the only leads cited as investigators pursue answers.
