The Sinai Business and Professional group will hold its annual dance on Saturday evening June 9 at 8 30 p m in the Sinai Temple Community House located at 1720 EB 54th street.

Alderman Einar Johnson of the 8th Ward asks for traffic lights at three intersections. Proposed at E 79th Street and S Kenwood Ave, E 83rd Street and S Ellis Ave, and E 91st Street and S Cottage Grove Ave. City council traffic committee considers starting the project.
The Chicago Park District announced Stony Island Park at E 87th St and S Jeffery Blvd will offer an athletic field with softball and baseball diamonds, tennis and horseshoe courts, playground, volleyball court, picnic area, benches, landscaped lawns, and installed water mains and sewerage with two drinking fountains. Layout of walks will be finished soon.
Alderman Nicholas Bohling announced a city crew will sweep streets in the Seventh ward from June 4. The area runs between W Tist and W 75th streets and S Bennett and S Yates avenues. Motorists are warned to heed parking bans. violators face tickets and a $10 fine.
The South Shore Commission seeks an extra eight thousand dollars to finish the fiscal year. The remaining of its twenty six thousand dollar budget to run an office and three paid staff has already been raised by about 1,400 contributors. Walter T. Meyer, vice-president, notes memberships range from five to fifteen dollars.
District 19 will present a Girl Scout rally on Sunday June 3 at 2 pm at Eckersall Stadium. Seventy troops totaling 1400 girls will participate with invocations by Brownie Phyllis Munro and scouts Patricia O'Rourke and Jackie Chimsky. District officers and neighborhood leaders are listed for the 1956 1957 year.
The Southmoor Community Council pledged enthusiastic cooperation in future plans for the area from East 67th to East 79th streets at its annual meeting in the Southmoor hotel. Basil Boase was elected president with Irving Benkowsky George Schwartz and Pete Veselopulos as vice presidents John Bagby as treasurer and Mike Hurley as secretary. The council, an early filer for the Off the Street Parking Program, aided acquiring a parking lot on East 67th Street between South Blackstone and South Stony Island avenues.
The Park Manor Little League opens its season next Tuesday at Washington Park in Chicago. Sixty boys aged eight to 12 form the league with daily 5 30 p m games on Diamond No 4, Tuesday Thursday and Saturday through August 18. The color guard from Salem Lutheran church will present colors and Rev R H Davis of Park Manor Christian church will give the invocation. The South Side Community Committee delivers uniforms and equipment via Red Feather at Cottage Grove Avenue 61565.
Rabbi Ralph Simon spiritual leader of Congregation Roche Zedek 5200 S Hyde Park will celebrate a silver anniversary in the rabbinate and 13 years with the congregation the weekend of June 8 to 10. Events include a Friday service with community leaders speaking a youth service Saturday a dinner Sunday with Prof Abraham Heschel as principal speaker and a career highlights program.
Four South Chicago YMCA men formed the local Industrial Management Club delegation with Stewart Friend Arthur Sechrist Robert Gabry and James Fitch attending the Henris at the Merchandise Mart. George E. Gullen American Motors Detroit spoke on labor relations. David Stubbs discussed the club’s community role at a South Chicago YMCA board meeting.
Wisconsin Steel faces Standard Oil and Chicago Steel and Wire meets Republic Steel in second Summer season games at Calumet Park near the lake. Last Thursday Republic beat Standard Oil 6 to 5 and Wisconsin won 17 to 7, in a league sponsored by the South Chicago YMCA.
Negotiations among state county city and park officials push a clover leaf grade separation at South Shore drive and 57th street. The project, estimated in the millions, aims to ease heavy southbound delays and improve access to Oakwood cross over.
