In year three the cat, the three kittens, and each of their three kittens have three kittens. Total cats and kittens after three years are calculated by summing all generations.
Mrs Grace Morrison Reynolds told the state convention that the greatest unemployment is between the ears and that one in every 100 Americans cannot speak English. She added a quip about inventing a white typewriter ribbon for typing on black paper in idle spring moments.

Andrew Torrence, was sent to the judiciary committee January 30. a statewide variant was noted to exist.
The E 75th st Business Men's Association will hold a mass meeting at Shore theater 2507 E 75th st next Sunday at 10 30 am for property owners and business men to discuss improving conditions. Topics include better lighting on 71 5th st from Jeffery Ave to the Lake and using vacant lots for playgrounds. Fairfax Townley will report on recreation efforts assisted by the Chicago Recreation Commission. George Lee will discuss the Greater Chicago Campaign. Secretary Clarence Lambesis says about 350 attendees are expected.
The county highway department announced the $181,966 contract to the John A. McGarry Company for widening and paving South Park from 68th to 79th streets. The project will standardize the street to 44 feet, add curbs and drainage, and remove trees as needed, with work starting within three weeks pending state approval. The article also notes a local drive to raise $10,000 of a $90,000 city-wide Boy Scout fund, inviting donations via the Southeast Economist at 728 W. 65th St.

He aims for every ward group to join and advocates an equal voice for local improvements through united civic representation. He asks all civic bodies to contact him.
The Economist reports Southtown Beach at Fish Lake Ind opening its second season with hundreds of lots sold last year and at least 100 new cottages built. Circulation reps are on site to help visitors choose colony homesites as families continue building. Neighbors describe a relaxing, affordable summer haven with congenial residents.
Dr. Philip Yung Lee will give an illustrated talk titled China Yesterday Today and Tomorrow to Chatham Lions at noon today. The Grove restaurant at 79th Street and Cottage Grove Avenue hosts the event. Members return from the Carbondale Illinois state convention will report on actions and achievements. John De Normandie serves as club president.
Fathers and sons will gather next Wednesday at Woodlawn Boys' Club on Harper Avenue for a fathers and sons dinner. Fathers without sons or those who have adopted a son will attend, with Kiwanis members invited to father fatherless boys. The 7 p.m. meal is prepared by mothers, followed by an entertainment program and medals for club members. An airplane demonstration will close the event.
Gustave Phillips 65 bound over to the grand jury on a murder charge after confessing in court and to police that he killed his wife in cold blood. Mrs. Phillips 48 strangled in bed at the three room cottage. Phillips slashed his throat and waited to die. He had previously been confined to insane asylums including Dunning.
The South Shore Junior Chamber of Commerce will award Robert E. Garrigan the civic merit plaque at an 8 pm open meeting and dance in the Southmoor hotel at 67th street and Stony Island avenue. Frank T. Lindman will present the award, with guest speaker Samuel Andalman addressing youth crime and opportunities.
