Nylon hose price record tied to treasury settlement in Chicago area
A Harvey merchant paid 22.87 for 13 pairs of nylon and rayon hose as a voluntary settlement for overcharged prices. The U S treasury collected 297 40 from the case, with hose prices ranging from 15 to 35 cents over ceiling.

Recovery of Seaman's Body From Calumet River
The body of Michael Thibault a 50 year old merchant seaman living at 8103 Burnham Ave was recovered from the Calumet River at 95th Street by South Chicago coast guard lifeboat station members. Coast Guardsmen say the body was in the water for about a month. The discovery occurred as coal barge workers spotted the body surfacing between their barge and a towing tug.

Retired Army Chaplain Dies on Streetcar
The Rev. Andrew West an 84 year old retired army chaplain and St Felicitas parish helper died of a heart attack Sunday while riding an Armitage avenue streetcar after visiting his sister Theresa Habermehel. He served 28 years as a chaplain including World War I and the Spanish American War and retired in 1919. Funeral services were held at St Felicitas and burial followed at Holy Sepulchre cemetery.
