Louis Howard Pasal 29, eighth Economist staffer to join military service, left yesterday for Camp Grant Rockford. A former World War I child fundraiser, he grew up at 78th Street and Ohion Avenue and later graduated Calumet High School in 1933. He has eight years of printer experience at the Economist plant. His parents are Mr. and Mrs. Charles Pasal of 7807 Union Avenue. Other Economist staff members who joined service include Edmund Brophy Robert Hoylman Edward Harris Leon Resnikoff Glenn McCabe Edward MaccDonald and Harold Kelly.

Boards Set For Lottery On Tuesday
National lottery will assign order numbers next Tuesday to Southeast side men registered for possible military service on February 16. Police Order Checks on Movie Attendance for School Hours
Southeast side theater managers begin enforcing a rule to bar unescorted children seven to sixteen during school hours from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Following a request by Police Commissioner James P. Allman and Superintendent William L. Bodine, captains were instructed to inform theaters to deny admission to unescorted youths and report violations to the Board of Education. Managers note child attendance is low during school hours and some venues have long restricted unsupervised youths.

Robber Beaten Off by Driver After 75th Street Attempt
Edward Glaser, 32, pulled into Ingleside Avenue after a stop at a traffic light when a man identified as a Negro brandished a knife and tried a stickup at 75th Street and South Park Avenue. Glaser struck him, sped off, and the assailant fell from the vehicle. Police were notified and Glaser was treated at Jackson Park hospital for eight stitches in his arm.

Burglars Take Nine White Wall Tires From Service Station
Phil's Service station at 1549 E 67th St reported nine white wall tires stolen and $63 in cash missing. Owner Philip Zolote of 6850 Cornell Ave alerted Grand Crossing police after discovering the burglary last Thursday morning.
