Drinking Drive Warning From National Traffic Safety Drive
W Earl Hall chair of the National Committee for Traffic Safety outlines that one in four fatal accidents involve alcohol and surveys show many cases understated. He notes blood tests reveal half of injured or killed drivers had alcohol and a third were under its influence. Higher alcohol levels greatly increase crash risk with blood concentrations above .15 percent making an average driver fifty five times more likely to crash. The public is warned of dangers of driving after drinking.

Mrs Roper Walker of 1 iu Michigan avenue hopes her terrier type dog Blackie will return home from a vacation visit with the family in Michigan. The small black and white mongrel was last seen at Ruggles playground where the children play ball before the boys Ronald aged 11 and Vernon aged 9 return. A boy picked up the dog last Thursday near 86th street and Kenwood avenue thinking it was a stray. Blackie is described as a small terrier type with a black coat and white paws and tail tip.

Dentists death in Hyde Park truck crash prompts funeral plans
Dr. Ben 2. Black a Hyde Park dentist died after a truck struck him at 67th street and Dorchester. Funeral services set for tomorrow at 10 am at the Stony Island chapel with burial in Oak Woods. He is survived by his widow Sophia, son Harold, and relatives in Massachusetts. The 55 year old, a 1919 Chicago Dental Society graduate, had offices on 1505 E 53rd St. The driver Bernard Russo 17 faced manslaughter charges. coroner's inquest was adjourned to August 7.

Beach tragedy as boy identified by clothing found on shore
Richard Redezevich, 14, disappeared Tuesday afternoon while swimming near 68th Street lake. Coast guard and Jackson Park units searched choppy waters but failed to locate him. A pile of khaki trousers, plaid shirt, shoes, cap, towel and a knotted handkerchief was later identified by his parents.

Henry Frederickson age 45 of 7211 Ellis Avenue was found dead Tuesday night from carbon monoxide poisoning after visiting his apartment. A note suggested his body would be in the garage. Nearby, Charles Clark aged 67 of 6210 Kimbark Avenue was found dead beside his car on the 6100 block of Kimbark Avenue in Grand Crossing, with a .22 caliber revolver found near the body. Police report Frederickson was discovered by his brother in law Bjor Westin of 7086.
