Arthur R. Salem 47 of 8932 Blackstone Ave escaped serious injury after his car overturned three times following a collision with Robert E. Mager at Stony Island Ave and 83rd Street. Salem suffered a scalp gash and leg cut. Mrs. Ralph Lake 23 of 6107 Dorchester Ave fell from a third floor window and survived with minor scratches after her husband found her uninjured below. doctor termed the fall’s escape spectacular.
A coroner's jury returned a murder verdict in the death of Mrs. John Rach 28 at 7835 Bennett Ave after being shot May 19 in a cocktail lounge. The inquest, begun the same day, was continued to aid Grand Crossing police seeking the unidentified assailants. a waiter Theodore Coffey was wounded.
Cavallo and his band present the third free Jackson Park concert at the foot of 63rd Street next Sunday at 8 p m. Sponsored by the Chicago Federation of Musicians and the Chicago Park District.

The South Shore Junior Chamber of Commerce asks the Chicago Park District to recondition the 67th street beach to improve bathing facilities. The resolution notes the nearby $21,000,000 lakefront filtration plant reduces beach access and requests sand screening to remove stones and gravel and a layer of fine lake bottom sand similar to North side beaches before summer.
