Lone Gunman Eludes Four In Chase After Holdup
A lone gunman robbed the Jewel Tea Food store at 311 E 79th St of 174 dollars last Monday afternoon and eluded four pursuing employees. Pursuit led north on Calumet Ave toward 79th Street before he vanished between two apartment buildings as police searched 76th Street and Calumet.

Entertainment Notes report the eighth annual Shrine circus begins Friday March 3 at Medinah temple 600 North Wabash Avenue. Matinees run 2 30 Tuesday through Saturday with two Sunday shows at 1 and 3 45. Night performances start 8 15 with a 30 minute clown prologue. Drexel Home for Aged Jews to Be Dedicated
The Drexel Home for Aged Jews at 6140 Drexel Ave will be dedicated at 2 30 pm Sunday. The six story building costs 1 3 million and forms part of a federation plan to care for the aged and chronically sick. It includes 53 beds for the chronically ill and 24 bed infirmary with a sun deck solarium and lounges on each floor. Michael Reese Hospital helped develop the medical program and occupancy will rise from 96 to 200 residents later this year.
