Lutheran Ceremony Next Sunday Marks New Church Projects
Ground will be broken for the Reformation English Lutheran church after 11 am services at the present church near the future site. A second ground-breaking for St Constantine Hel jenic church occurred last Thursday on Stony Island avenue. The 98,000 dollar program includes a new church with carillon tower and a remodeled parsonage and school. The 75 by 102 foot English Gothic building will seat 250 with 100 overflow, and a cloister links the two structures. Carillon funds were given by Mr and Mrs George Metz in memory of their son George Jr. Renovation plans convert the old site into a parsonage, and excavation starts Monday with completion expected by November 1.
