South side hospitals and doctors laud the Third District American Legion program to supply 500 free blood donors for emergencies. Dr. Murray W. Sims leads the project testing donors and recording blood type and disease history for access by hospitals and physicians. six months to a year expected to establish. Dr. J. J. New South Shore Council Formed To Coordinate Local Groups
Leaders from civic business religious and educational circles gather at the South Side Swedish club to form a South Shore Community council. Twenty two representatives attend the luncheon meeting chaired by Alderman Thomas Daley. Congress Raymond McKeough says the council will act as a clearing house for community needs and improvements. Daley pledges cooperation and suggests electing officers as the council covers 67th to 84th streets and Stony Island Avenue to the lake.

Rites Today for Policeman and Wife Killed by Train
Captain Eugene Barry and about 75 officers attend the service for Johan Karl Jensen and his wife Helen at 1 pm in the 851 East 74th Street chapel. The couple died when their car struck a Grand Trunk train at the 115th Street crossing near Sacramento Avenue. The coroner ruled accidental death and urged electric flasher signals at the crossing. Jensen served since 1922 and belonged to several Danish fraternal groups. the couple had no children.
