Sgt. Victor Theodore Olson 24 died three days after his August 15 marriage from appendicitis while home on furlough. Burial was in Oak Woods Cemetery after funeral at Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church. Olson, inducted October 1941, had been with the coast barrage division and served at Camp Tyson Tennessee. Survivors include his father Albert Olson, his bride Dorothy Windham, and four brothers.
Mrs. Bessie Hurley aged 54 died after the car she rode in struck a light post at the entrance to Jackson Park on Marquette Road Saturday afternoon. An inquest found accidental death. Funeral services set for 9:30 a.m. at St Lawrence Church. Burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
