Hyde Park High School, perennial winner of Wilson City College's annual math contest, dominated the seventh edition. Charles Arends led with a perfect score, taking first, followed by Tom King second, Jerry Porter third, and Tom Waterman fourth, all from Hyde Park. Calumet and Morgan Park teams also placed, with Kelly's team earning a top spot as well.

The Chicago Metropolitan council of the American Youth Hostels invites cyclists to have their wheels reflectorized at a May 8 event from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for 25 cents. Volunteers will work at 10 park fieldhouses across Chicago to apply Scotch Light Tape on rear and front bike parts to enhance night visibility.

Henry T. Boberg executive vice president of South East National Bank died of a heart attack at his home on Saturday at age 50. Funeral services were held Tuesday at Lorimer Memorial Baptist Church with burial in Oak Woods Cemetery. Survived by widow Emogene a daughter Mrs. Robert Palmer mother Mrs. Mathilda Boberg and brother Stanley. He was a South Side native and active in local clubs and associations.

A coroner's jury ruled the death of Edward James Rooks aged 57, of 7918 Rhodes Avenue, accidental after he was struck by an eastbound car while crossing at 511 East 79th Street on April 10. Driver Jack Walsh, 20, of 6913 Vernon Avenue, was behind the vehicle.
