Trial of Mrs Harvey continued on grand larceny charge
The case of Mrs. Arthur Harvey a 24 year old Negress charged with grand larceny was moved to May 4. Police say she confessed to robbing the home of Harry Melvoins 2015 E 74th St where she was employed as a maid claiming her husband forced her to commit the crime which involved silverware jewelry and clothing valued at 3500. Harvey was arrested in Detroit and extradited last week. Her husband remains at large.

Slain After Arguments Over Petty Disputes
Ernest Lind aged 50 was fatally shot last Sunday morning and died at Jackson Park Hospital after being injured in a dispute with Carmello Inglima, also 50, who lived in the same building. Police sought Inglima for information as the investigation continued.

Southeast Wins Major Honors in Scholarship Quiz
Southeast students captured top honors in the University of Chicago scholarship quiz held Saturday for the 25th year. Hyde Park high school earned the scholarship plaque for the most points, winning four full scholarships six half scholarships and three honorable mentions for 45 points versus 20 for runner up Car Park high school. The top individual score among 616 students from 79 Chicago region high schools went to Thomas Brill of Morgan Park High School with 1218 of 1407 points.
