A wartime era fashion note describes 3 to 10 year olds favoring belted full-skirt frocks and middy styles. Sleeveless pleated overdress with navy blouse, drip dry fabrics, floral organdies and voile fabrics lead a season of sheer femininity. Floral prints, velvet ribbons, and tailored boxy jackets dominate. Sailor hats and picture hats crown a dress up season for young girls.
Sisterhood of Congregation Rodfei Sholom Oir Chodosh will hold elections at 8 15 pm on Thursday April 22 in the synagogue at 6209 S Euclid. The program includes a skit Is This You written by program chairman Mrs Herman Garber and meeting conducted by chairman Mrs Jules Rutzky.

The Chicago Symphony Ensemble will perform in a First Unitarian church concert April 18 at 8 30 pm. Proceeds aid Unitarian Service Committee projects in Cambodia South America France Greece Hungary the Middle East Korea Nigeria Maine and New Mexico. Co chairs ROBERT KIEFER and DAVID KAUFMAN with a Southeast Side patron group including Alderman Leon Despres and Rev Leslie Pennington among others.
Cottage Grove Heights Woman's club will elect new officers at the April 16 meeting. Officers listed include President Gene Johnson and Vice President Robert Grodetz with treasurer Paul Yankala and Elmer Barkstrom as officers. A program by Edison Co titled Magic Link to Better Living Electrically will follow, directed by Mrs. John Curran. Social hour hosts are Mrs. Otto Meeves and Mrs. Henry Parker.
Mrs. M. A. Nieburger of 7820 S Ridgeland Ave was elected president at the 10th anniversary meeting of the local chapter of the National T. T. T. society. The group supports a Wisconsin summer camp for underprivileged girls. Other officers include Mrs. W. L. Allen vice president Mrs. R. S. Davis recording secretary Mrs. M Anderson corresponding secretary Mrs. C. A. Studebaker treasurer and Mrs. Hargrove historian.
The South Side division of the National Council of Jewish Women will host a reception at 730 pm on Sunday April 20 at the home of Mr and Mrs Lothar Neuberger inviting Sean Congressional List State legislators and their wives. Local affairs chair Mrs Milton G Heyman announced a brief program for legislators to share political views with council members and spouses. Assisting are Mrs Morris Fisher Mrs Paul Shlensky Mrs Martin Hamer Mrs Stanley Kales and Mrs Sigfried Shattil. Invited legislators include Senators Korshak Smith Donovan Johnson Cronin and Representatives Mikyva Lee Kinnally Derwins ki Lenard Svalina Schneider Whalen Downes Morgensen Stastny and Ryan Whalen Downes Morgensen Stastny.
Five area residents are finalists for the State Street Council’s Volunteer of the Year award. A portrait gallery of 100 candidates is on display in the Palmer House lower arcade. Nominees include Mrs. Julia W. Abt of 1952 E. Tistel and Mrs. Elaine Vance of 78088 Burnham Ave. Each woman contributes in settings from occupational therapy to youth programs and hospital volunteering.
The South Shore Women's Interfaith group will meet Monday April 21 at 1 pm at Manor Community Church 9989 S Crandon Ave. Officers will be installed and plans discussed for a pot-luck supper for 50 foreign students of the University of Chicago. The event is at South Shore temple E 72nd St and S Jeffery Ave on April 26.

Thirty three women from South Chicago churches toured nearly 200 stores in the South Chicago Shopping center on Monday to raise 5 000 dollars for the South Chicago Community Center during the 1958 finance drive. The effort followed an orientation at the center led by Everett Cope the executive director. Mrs Fred White and Mrs Vance D Fitzel of Bethan Union Church led the most productive team though the total collected was not announced.
