Mad Butcher on the Trail After Leg Found
County detectives pursue the so called mad butcher after another human leg is found washed ashore Neville Island in the Ohio river. Coroner Dr P J Henney says the leg and a second one found last Sunday were severed from the same body at the hip by a skilled hand. Four youths in a skiff found the leg.

Unlicensed Driver Causes Minor Crash in Philadelphia
Glenn Northrup, 56, who says he never drove, accidentally activated an automobile ignition in a friend's car in Philadelphia. The car struck four other vehicles before stopping. Northrup was fined $10 and costs for driving without a permit.

A holiday trip for 15 people from three families ended when a truck overturned on a dirt road two miles east of Waynesburg. Memorial Day Crashes Claim Several Pennsylvanians
A passenger in a vehicle driven to avoid holiday traffic died when the car struck a culvert and overturned on the Belfast Wind Gap road near Easton. Tragedy at Hannastown Farm Mine Vent Claims Two Lives
An 11 year old visitor from Greensburg and Harry Sekora 22 son of the farm owner died in a 35 foot air shaft at the John Sekora farm near Hannastown from black damp gas. George Fargo 65 a farm worker survived the incident as rescuers pulled the victims from the shaft. Greensburg firemen arrived about half an hour after the accident and hospital attendants continued efforts to revive the men.
