Stolen Motor Returned to Denise Mine in Stonycreek
An eight horsepower gas motor stolen from Denise Coal in Stonycreek township on May 23 was returned to its mount by unknown persons Thursday night. State police at Somerset recovered a 500 foot copper cable missing insulation and arrested two Somerset juveniles, aged 16 and 17, who admitted stealing the wire and await juvenile court action. The motor’s value is listed at 200 dollars.

Body of Slayer Suspect Found Near Clinton
The body of 50 year old Dewey McLaughlin was found this day a mile east of the Clinton home where his sister in law was killed last Wednesday. He apparently shot himself in the stomach with a shotgun and police believe the weapon is the one used to kill Mrs Josephine McLaughlin. Detectives had searched fields and abandoned mines for him.
