63 Miners Die In Ruhr Mine Disaster
Gelsenkirchen Germany May 21 63 coal miners died in a half mile underground explosion at Danlbusch mine. A follow up fire was extinguished this morning as authorities and rescue teams recovered the last body. The disaster halted jubilee events and prompted mourning and relief effort for the widows and children. This was Germanys worst mine disaster since 1946.
