Fresh from secret airlifts, Vietnam government forces backing Premier Nguyen Cao Ky moved into Da Nang overnight and gained control of city hall and the radio station after a fight. Insurgent pockets remained, linked to a Buddhist organized struggle movement.
The Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church opened its sealed corner stone in the Fellowship Hall of St. Pauls United Church of Christ with church leaders present. Carl Friedhofer Jr. removed contents including old newspaper issues from 1872 a hymn book and an Oxford New Testament edition.
