Father Son Killed By Hit Run Driver
Paul Frederick Johnson 38 and his son Paul William 16 of Evans City were killed instantly when struck by a hit and run driver while changing a tire. Seven family members witnessed the tragedy as others sat in the car including his mother Christina Mayer his wife and four children. Eugene 17 helped with the tire and was nearby during the fatal incident.
Navy Says It Can Police World After War Ends
Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Air Artemus L. Gates testified before a House panel arguing the Navy will be large enough to police the world after the war. He opposed merging all services, but said the Navy could operate across sea, air, and land and form the nucleus of a single force.
