Ruth Alice Lehman 16 a Berlin-Brothersvalley Junior High student was named Berlin's tenth fire queen after a dramatic reading A Newsboy's Prayer at the Berlin Community Building Monday evening. Patti Countryman 16 was runner up in a pastel blue gown and performed an original solo and dance. Other contestants included Debbie Harkcom Linda Heckman Joyce Hendershot Carolyn Leslie and Sandy Lee.

Insurance Man Knepper Dies After 76 Years In Somerset
Charles I Knepper a longtime Somerset independent insurance agent died Monday in Somerset Community Hospital at age 76. He started in 1911 and operated from 109 North Center Avenue. He served in WWI with the 80th division and was active in Trinity Lutheran Church VFW American Legion and the Somerset Country Club. Services set for Wednesday at Walter S Hoffman Funeral Home with interment in Husband Cemetery.
