A bill introduced in the Legislature would alter how vacancies in county commissioner and jury commissioner posts are filled in sixth class counties like Somerset. Current law has the common pleas court appointing a successor from the same party. the bill would remove court control and designate a different process.
Tableland Community Association Inc will hold its Board of Directors meeting on Wednesday May 15 at 730 p m in the Scull Building office. Briefings will cover the Neighborhood Youth Corps Neighborhood Centers and Head Start and all interested persons are urged to attend.
Airman First Class Stanley, serving in South Vietnam during the war, is praised for aiding local children while participating in combat operations against North Vietnamese and Viet Cong forces. The report highlights his dual role as service member and humanitarian.
The Air Force plans to dump 10 million gallons of defoliants over South Vietnam starting July to strip jungle cover and deny food to enemy troops.
