Fierce fighting raged on the western outskirts of Saigon as North Vietnamese soldiers engaged near the capital for the first time in the current offensives. The Tet-related operations continued with clashes inside Saigon and around Tan Son Nhut, while a rocket or mortar blast rocked downtown Saigon. Teen-Age Hearts May Give Life
Doctors reported swift heart transplant operations using teen donor hearts at St. Luke's Hospital. James B. Cobb, 48, received a 15 year old Conroe Tex. donor heart. Everett Claire Thomas, 47, got a similar transplant, with a dual transplant including a donor kidney for William C. Kaiser, 41, of Odessa Tex. The hospital is the only one with two such operations in three days.
