A 14 year old Somerset girl Rebecca Berkey was struck by a car near her home and transported to Somerset Community Hospital after getting off a bus from swimming lessons. Police identified the driver as William Foltz of Pittsburgh. Two others, Barry and Pamela Meager, aged 10 and 8, were hospitalized after a two car crash on Route 53 north of Somerset involving their mother Marlene Meager of Frieds R.D. 1.
