The Somerset Fortnightly club will host Charles Reizenstein of C Reizenstein Sons as guest speaker on Tuesday May 14 at 8 p.m. in the Mary S Biesecker Public Library. He is a Pittsburgh importer and authority on china glass and art objects and will discuss values in antiques and quality in art novelties. He represents three generations in the Allegheny county firm founded in 1859 and holds roles with the Pennsylvania Crippled Children society and local clubs, churches, and Rotary.
Twenty two men of the Brotherhood class at First Christian church gathered in Johnstown Friday for a banquet ending a three month Bible class contest among Altoona Moxham First Christian Somerset and Johnstown First church. About a hundred attendees shared fellowship as guests from Hooversville Christian church. The Somerset Fife and Drum corps led by Charles Cook Albert Huston and Robert Menhorn featured in the program.

Miss Yvonne J. Trembley of Cuyahoga Falls Ohio married Howard D. Durst Jr son of Mr and Mrs Howard D. Durst Sr of Queereek. The ceremony was in Oakland Methodist Church April 25 and was performed by Rev Mr Picking. The couple will reside in Kent Ohio where Durst is employed by C L Fou gler company. Durst is a 1921 Somerset high school graduate who served three years in the Pacific and was honorably discharged January 18 1945.
A semi annual gathering of new and old Junior Hospital Auxiliary members was hosted Saturday afternoon at the Somerset County club. Centerpieces of yellow and white flowers and tapers graced the table as tea was served. Hostesses were Mrs. George H. Doolittle Mrs. Robert Shoemaker Miss Harriet Hoffman and Miss Anrabelle Delle. New members welcomed include Misses Betty Egolf Donnalee Dunlap Phyllis Kaufman Betty Critchfield Betty Winters Betty Harkcom and others Mrs. Florence Mahoney Mrs. Maria MacMurdo Mrs. Robert Brant Mrs. James Coleman Mrs. Wayne Hay Mrs. Norman Humbertson Mrs. Oscar Teitz Mrs. Pat Winters and Mrs. Donald Critchfield.
Mr and Mrs Joseph Picking of Somerset entertained a diverse group at dinner on Sunday. Thomas Morin of North Edgewood avenue left Sunday evening for St Louis Missouri where he will wed Saturday to Miss Dorothy Krunkul of that place.
Mrs. Pauline Mathias Herring and son Sandy, after wintering in Huey with her parents, relocate to Somerset to live with her grandparents Mr and Mrs H C Siehl on East Main. Mrs. Florence Lohr departs West Patriot for Arlington to visit sister Mrs Ellen Sorber and family. G S Reiman and D Reiman visit Endless Caverns on a Shenandoah Valley motor trip. Richard Welsh, University of Pittsburgh student, spends weekend with aunt Mrs Charles A Welsh on West Main. Miss Deyvenna Schenck visits parents on West Main. she attends Pennsylvania Colleges for Women in Pittsburgh. Misses Rose Merie and Ethel Miller, employed in Pittsburgh, return home to East Church for weekend. Mr and Mrs Harry Christner and son James of Meyersdale and Mrs Bernard Cox of West Fairview visit Winchester WV to see apple blossoms. Jane Hoffman, Gettysburg College student, spends weekend with father Carl H Hoffman on West Patriot.
Cpl J Statler Miller of Hq 9th Corp finance section in Japan has been promoted to sergeant. He is the son of Mr and Mrs Robert L Miller of Berlin. Before VJ Day he served on Leyte in the Philippines with the 1st Infantry Division known as Gen Muellers Wildcats.
It is estimated that the total U S demand for petroleum products in 1965 will be 5 800 000 barrels daily.
Fairmont West Virginia group Granddad Hite and The Home Folks are set to appear in a show at the Somerset courthouse assembly room on Wednesday May 8 at 8 p.m. The event invites local residents to attend this community entertainment providing a night of regional folk performances.
Mt Lebanons memorial service will be held Sunday morning May 26 with the American Legion of Berlin and auxiliary assisting. It is one of the largest memorials in the region and begins at ten with a well known speaker. White Oak memorial also Sunday May 26 at three with Veterans of Foreign Wars and Auxiliary assisting and open to all organizations.
The regular monthly meeting will be held this Monday evening May 6 in the Casino building at 7 30. Members are urged to attend as plans for upcoming activities will be discussed.

The Brown Swiss cow was imported into the United States in 1865 from Switzerland.

Roof Garden male chorus drew large crowds at Village Street Church of the Brethren in Johnstown. Ernest Statler led and sang solo Prayer Perfect, with quartet Bowman Stangler Schmucker and Statler performing two numbers. The final spiritual Steal Away closed with a lit cross in the back window as Pastor Rev. John Ellis thanked attendees.
The group received personal thanks and compliments as they traveled back to Somerset. Mrs Martha Phillippy Coleman supported the singers at the organ and performed the prelude, offertory, and postlude.
