Somerset County Commissioners met with Lloyd Ellis administrator at the Somerset County Home for the Aged to review auditors criticism of vending machine funds. The audit cited 1792 dollars in county funds for soft drinks and partial remittance in 1972 and 1973.
Attorney Edward S. Finkelstein contends that only one corridor was shown for Route 219 through Somerset County and labels seven studied alignments as effectively the same. He says the plan favors a western shift toward Keysers Ridge and claims the chosen route harms dairy farming while costing more than other options.
President Nixon ordered stricter price controls on firms with more than $250 million in annual sales. They must notify the Cost of Living Council 30 days before raising prices above 1.5 percent from January 10 levels or face potential action. The move follows Phase 3 anti inflation measures and mirrors Phase 2 Tier I rules.

Cole Jr leads the Domestic Council coordination with Stephen Bull handling daily flow and David Parker long range scheduling. Weather shows mixed skies and cool temps with showers likely Thursday into Friday.
Harrisburg AP Bell Telephone Co seeks a 56.6 million dollar annual rate increase to keep pace with record demand for service. The plan would raise monthly residential rates 22 to 60 cents and business lines 57 cents to 1.38, with the PUC delaying action for investigation.
