Coroner Orders Inquest Into Curanzy Death

Coroner Robert H. Halverson ordered an inquest into the death of Mrs. Catherine Curanzy of Jerome. The inquest will be held at 7 p.m. Monday May 3 in the Jerome grade school. Mrs. Curanzy, 58, widow, was found by her son Ray after he returned from school.

French Toss All Into Air Fight Over Indo-China

French Union planes hammered Viet Minh positions around Dien Bien Phu as ground forces attacked from four directions. Paratroopers and supplies were dropped while rebels fought from trenches and cannon fire pressed the fortress. In Hanoi a short demonstration urged independence.

Postpone Bus Strike at Pittsburgh Union Calls Off Walkout

An AFL union representing 2700 Pittsburgh Railways Co. employees ordered a strike last night at 11 p m EST but canceled it within an hour for at least one week amid negotiations led by Mayor David L Lawrence and AFL CIO leaders. Traffic jams threaten downtown, and merchants fear sharp business declines as deliveries halt. The five largest department stores have faced a strike by 12 AFL unions since November 27.
