Houtzdale grocer dies of smallpox in quarantine
George Burchill, 51, a Clearfield County grocer, died here today from what physicians described as smallpox. Dr. Lorenzo G. Runk, Philipsburg district public health officer, warned all who had recent contact with Burchill to seek medical advice. Burchill fell ill Wednesday night. the store closed yesterday and his home was quarantined.
