State police in Rockview questioned a 35 year old heating contractor at their barracks after he was brought up from Philadelphia on a tip from a porter who noted stains on his clothing. The man, who had lived in State College for years, had claimed to be visiting Philadelphia to buy oil burners. His landlord said she spoke with him the night of the slaying of Rachel Taylor and that he left for Philadelphia after 12:30 a.m. Investigators did not confirm any link to the stains on his clothing.

Sideling Hill Tunnel Bored Through On South Penn Route
Two crews from Arundel Construction of Baltimore completed boring through the Sideling Hill tunnel on the South Penn highway at 2 30 pm Thursday.
