William Hayman age 26 of North Franklin Street was arrested at his home by FBI agents and Chief Jacob Pile for allegedly failing to report for physical examinations on February 24 and March 11. He was held on $1,000 bail for appearance before U S Commissioner F A Herbert, then recommitted for federal proceedings. Hayman, married and father, previously worked for the Baltimore and Ohio railroad in Somerset rising from water boy to crane operator before quitting in August 1943 and not returning when urged to do so.
