War Refugee Jailed For New Murder
Petaluma Calif March 26 Three alert small town policemen arrested a Hungarian war refugee for the murder rape slaying of a Nevada minister's wife. Lasmo Varga 19 was identified by the FBI and police as the suspect. He is charged with raping 22 year old Mrs Billee Rahe Morning of Wells Nevada and beating her to death with a rolling pin after her clothing was removed and she was tied to a bed. The minister husband 27 was away preaching when the crime occurred. Varga denied he was in Nevada during arraignment and was held without bail. The suspect claimed a U S government job in 1922 and said he crossed oceans and nations. He was born in Austria and said he was born at Let Austria. Authorities moved to page two for continued coverage.
