Berchey a 21 year old from Johnstown was returned to Somerset county jail Sunday afternoon from the Allegheny county work house to face charges of breaking entering and larceny and possession of stolen goods. Officers say Berchey and companions entered Jennertown American store and carried off a safe. Henry James Kent and Clyde Coba ugh are serving time in the Western Penitentiary for Cambria county crimes. Deputy sheriffs Hare and Baldwin transferred him back.

Spite Killer Sobs On Stand At Chester Murder Trial
A 26 year old Chester shipyard worker William D Larkin faced a jury charged with murder for killing his 20 month old son in February while seeking spite against his estranged wife. He sobbed on the stand as prosecutors pressed for the death penalty and a police statement quoted him saying he killed the child to spite his wife. The baby was killed in his rooming house and Larkin reportedly said I killed my son because I loved him. His wife Mary 22 was disqualified from testifying.
