In Taipei the legislative Yuan heard President Chiang Kai-shek rejected a Formosa Strait cease-fire in talks with Secretary of State Dulles on March 3. School Board Sets 5000 Salary Cap for 12 Month Teachers
Jenner-Boswell-Jennerstown school board on Monday adopted a 5000 dollar maximum salary for teachers on a 12 month basis with an extra 400 dollars for those holding masters degrees. The board also approved special education at the elementary level and kindergarten classes for 1955 56. Two retiring elementary teachers will be honored at a directors and faculty banquet on Tuesday May 3 Mrs Jeannetta Miller after 40 years and Mrs Matilda Wahl after 19 years. An all sports banquet is planned for April 25 in the high school cafeteria. General supply bids for next term were opened and referred to the finance committee. R Leslie Simpson supervising principal will join a survey staff to evaluate the budgetary system of the Duquesne school district.
