Police rounded up seven Puerto Rican Communist party leaders on subversion charges as part of a broader purge following the shooting of five congressmen in Washington. The operation came after 36 Nationalist leaders were arrested, with authorities still seeking Juan Santos Rivera and two others. Donald Arnold Bruesewitz a 24 year old Milwaukee Wisconsin man paid a 100 fine and costs Saturday in Somerset county court after waiving a hearing before Squire Wayne O Hay and pleading guilty to violating the uniform firearms act He was arrested by turnpike police Friday at 6 35 p m on the Jefferson township section of the Pennsylvania turnpike after a fully loaded German model 32 caliber automatic was found in the glove compartment of his automobile

Four Released From Somerset County Jail
Two men and a couple were released from the Somerset County jail after arrests Friday. James L. Feaster, 26, of New Castle, faced a motor code violation. Two Bandits Begin Terms In Pen for Greene Co. Crimes
John A. Gwynn a 26 year old Pittsburgh man started a two to six year term in Western State penitentiary after pleading guilty to armed robbery larceny and burglary. He and Frank Bishops of Westmoreland county were accused of breaking into a Greene county grocery store stealing 67 cartons of cigarettes and Gwynn later holding up the Carson grocery in Carmichaels and taking $10 at gunpoint. Bishops pleaded guilty to robbery and larceny and received from 18 months to six years in Western State penitentiary.

The death of Carl Close aged 55 was due to a heart attack the Somerset County Coroner said. Close a B and O freight conductor was found near a switch outside Markleton Saturday night and taken to Price hospital Confluence. He had lived in Cumberland Md and formerly Hyndman. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Ziegler funeral home Hyndman.
